3 months

Wow, so Mackenzie will be 3 months old on Friday. I cannot believe the time has gone so fast! Wait, is this how I start every post?? Anyway, things are crazy as always in our world. We're gearing up fast for the holiday's and just trying to get everything solidified.

The weekend of October 17th will be Mackenzie's christening. Mom, Steph, Ashley and the kids are coming as well as Brad (Godfather) and Julie - Jason's sister who will be the Godmother. We are revolving this event around Texas/OU weekend and the State Fair so it should make for a fun-filled whirlwind of a weekend. I, of course, am just so psyched to have the family come visit. I love the holiday's because it seems like we see each other a lot more. Thanksgiving is still up in the air for us. We usually have it here but were planning on going to Orlando but time snuck up on us and now airfare is out the wazhoo - I think we are going to postpone that trip until February and do Disney then as well. So we will either have my mom come here or we'll go to LA for a few days. Then Xmas is spent in KC - a full week, woo hoo! Its my favorite time since we are ALL together. Then after that my cousin Tim is getting married Jan 2 in Buffalo so I will probably be heading up North solo for that event. Sad that I'll miss New Year's with Jason and the girls but happy to see that side of the family. And maybe Mady will come with me, not 100% sure yet. A lot going on in just a few short months.

In between then I have a half marathon coming up December 13th. I just started back running 4.5 weeks ago and was interested in seeing how I would shape up but this past weekend I ran the 13.1 miles and was very pleased with my time. I am noticing more and more how cardiovascularly in shape I am - I barely breathe hard - its just the muscle fatique that gets to me. And its amazing how old injuries pop up here and there. I swear I'm going to have to retire from this in a few years given that state of my knee, but until then....I am so lucky that Jason lets me have the time to do this for myself, then again, I do get up at 4:30am so he never really misses me :)

Madelyn is making strides left and right. She's potty trained and doing very, very well. She can say all her shapes and colors and can count to 20!!! We're working on reading right now and and she is singing Rock a by Baby and Twinkle Twinkle to Mackenzie almost perfectly. She is really excelling at Gymnastics and is just a great, great, kid to be around. I cannot believe how big my first born is getting!

Mackenzie is just a perfect little angel. Jason and I are really loving it now as she is finding her voice. When either one of us talks to her she talks back - she is so smiley and gigly now it is adorable! She is getting stronger by the day - everyone comments on it. She can almost sit up and she can definitely put all her weight on her legs - she LOVES to stand! We're working on the rolling over too. She's continued to be congested but not as bad and is sleeping better as a result...still with Mommy or Daddy for part of the night but I'm not giving that up. I love that time with her as I'm away from her so much during the day :(

Right now I'm just really enjoying my family, trying to focus on work (which is hard) and really starting to focus on starting my business. Updates to follow!

10 Weeks

Mackenzie turned 10 weeks old yesterday - she is doing so well! Jason and I picked her up from school yesterday and she went from eating 2-3oz per feeding to 4oz! I am so happy - hopefully this means cutting down on nighttime feedings! We've had a few rough nights lately and it is kind of upsetting. She had been on a consistent schedule for sometime now, eating at 6pm after I picked her up, bath time around 6:30 and then down at 7pm. She would sleep till about 11-12 and then eat around 4am. The past week or so she has been extremely congested and has been tossing and turning all night, never really getting a good nights sleep. Hopefully we can get back on a routine this weekend.

Madelyn will be starting in the 3's classroom on Monday! I cannot believe how mature that little girl is. She is doing so well and I just look at her in awe sometimes. Words cannot descibe her - she is going to truly be an amazing little lady. I had debated putter her in dance class but I think I'm going to wait until next year when she will be able to appreciate a little more. I figure we will continue with gymnastics until then.

Jason is doing great - he's really kicking it at work which is really impressive. I've very proud of him. I've just been trying to deal with work - there is a lot going on here and I've said it before, I think this job is just so stressful! Anyway, I am working on a 3 year plan as well as some other personal goals and that is really where my focus is right now. Running is going great although my brand new shoes got stolen from our front porch this morning! I was so pissed!!! I dont think i'll have any issue with the 1/2 marathon in Dec. I started working on abs this morning. Dr. Monti told me to wait until about now to do any abs and I was really sore - it was tough so I didnt push it too much. I cannot wait to whip this body back into hardcore shape!!

I think that's about it. Not a lot planned for this weekend, thank God. Just some yard work, grocery shopping, shopping for bathroom tiles, gymnastics, running and maybe the pool...ok, that does seem like a lot!!

Mackenzie is 2 months old!

Short update today - I took Mackenzie for her 2 month check up and she is growing perfectly (as the dr said)! At birth she was 6lbs 10oz and 19 3/4 inches. Today she was 11lbs 4.5oz and 23 1/4 inches. 75th percentile in height and 60th percentile in weight. Definitely smaller than her big sis who is consistently in the 90th percentile for both. She is doing well and starting to sleep pretty well. We've had a nasty stomach bug in the house the past week and that has not been fun, definitely disrupted all our sleep.
I'm back at work and not liking it too much - I really miss being home with the girls although I know I am not one who would be able to do that full time.
Jason's bday is Monday and this weekend I am taking him out to a nice dinner - very excited for that! I've also been running pretty consistently now for 2 weeks - I'm back at 4 miles during the week (but now have to get up at 430am to get them in). That has not been fun. I've been running about 5 on the weekends and will attempt 7 t oday. It's been pretty easy getting back into it luckily, I just need to get some new shoes, desperately.

Wow, time flies!

Well Mackenzie will be 8 weeks old this Thursday!! She is doing great and I am gearing up to go back to work. My first day will be Tuesday and I am NOT looking forward to it. I have enjoyed our time together so much I cannot even express it in words. With Madelyn I worked everyday and really missed out on a lot with her. So this time I made sure I layed in bed and cuddled with Mac as much as I could - i know juggling working full time, 2 kids, a husband and running wont leave me with a lot of down time.

So Mackenzie is growing like a week and starting to sleep really well. She is still eating every 3 hours but we seem to really be getting into a schedule. I'm going to have to start getting up at 445am to run before her 6am feeding! She truly is a beautiful child, I cannot wait to see who she grows into.

Madelyn is officially potty training and doing amazingly, seriously that kid is something special - she is wiser beyond her years and Jason and I just look at her in awe. She will move up to the 3's class Aug 31 and I am just so proud of her.

We got to go to Kansas City and Chicago this summer - 2 great trips. I cannot believe how fast this 2 months has passed!

Last week Dr Monti gave me the ok to start working out again. Recovery from a c section is not fun and my recoveries always seem to be a little more challenging. Anyway, I started running on Thursday and have gotten 3 good 4 mile runs in. It is Soooo depressing though to see where I am now. I know I havent done a lot more than walk in 7 months so its going to take some time but I am not the most patient person in the world. I have 10lbs that I want to lose still and am just having the worst time with my body and bosy image. I'm pushing through though and doing my best - with breastfeeding I really cant diet the way I want to.

Anyway, tomorrow is my last day with my precious baby and I am going to thouroughly enjoy it!!

19 day countdown

Yes, 19 days to go before baby Mackenzie Ann arrives! It's hard to imagine that in 3 weeks from today I will have another little girl in my arms...we are getting VERY excited to meet her! We've almost completed the nursery and will make our final run to babies R Us this weekend to get the new car seat and some last minute things and then we should be good to go.

I'm feeling pretty good -- I did forget though how those last few weeks feel! I've been getting very tired and have been trying to sleep because I know that the lack of is very near in my future! We've been talking to Madelyn about her new sis - not sure how she is feeling as most of the time she has been saying she doesnt want a little sister. I am very apprehensive about it all as i feel somehow I am taking something away from her since she has been the only child for 2 years. I know ultimately she will be fine but I can't help but to be sad and scared at the same time. She is growing up before our eyes though, I cannot believe how big my little girl has gotten! We are 2 weeks away from her big birthday #2 and we are having an Olivia the Pig themed party at her favorite place - ASI gymnastics. I am so excited to see how she reacts to the big day!

That's about it for now. Just trying to get myself settled at work before I am off for 8 weeks! It is always sooo stressful being away from work but at least I have my blackberry! We are also planning a trip to Kansas City and Chicago this summer. Chicago the last weekend in July and we are super excited for it! Traveling with 2 little ones on the other hand may be a handful.

I hope everyone is well and I will post before the big day.

Baby #2

So, today was our 20 week check up, we are halfway there! All my ATC test came back negative which was such a relief and the baby was measuring and growing perfectly. I have gained exactly the same amount of weight as last time too which is weird to me. Anyway, we found out today we are having another little girl!!! We are very excited and can't wait to get home to let Madelyn know she is going to have a little sister!! Jason and I are also really excited to get started on the nursery!! Luckily this little one will have tons and tons of amazing hand me downs between her big sis Madelyn and her cousins Olivia and Georgia! Also need to confirm a name but I think we have that one nailed down.

Madelyn is doing wondferfully! She is so mature and so so smart it is really amazing to me. We signed her up for gymnastics and she will start going every Saturday next week. She also knows almost all her colors and shapes and we are working on numbers. She has picked out her favorite pair of shoes from my shoe collection and now insists on wearing them in the mornings and taking her "purse" to school with her. Jason is surrounded by Girls, thats for sure!

Jason and I are both super busy at work, which I guess is a good thing. We could both easily work 60 hour weeks if we let ourselves. Things are going really well and we feel extremely blessed!

Hope everyone else is well and I will update soon!

Happy Holidays

I hope everyone had a great holiday! Jason, Madelyn and I began our trip to Kansas City Saturday December 20th around 12:30 pm. Within the frist 2 hours of the trip Maddy threw up but the rest of the ride was successful - we arrived at my Dad's aroung 9pm. I got one spa day in while I was there and the rest of the time was spent hanging out with the fam, parties, playing rock band and taking care of sick people. Unfortunately Jason got sick Christmas Eve and missed Christmas Day :( he recovered quickly though and got to feeling better fast. We were supposed to leave Saturday the 27th but in the early hours of Saturday morning we got a huge storm, possibly a tornado and had to push back our departure to Sunday which ended up being fine. Neither Jason nor I wanted to leave. Overall we had a great holiday and I am sad it is over. Madelyn got a lot of great gifts and is getting bigger and bigger every day.

Speaking of bigger - i am into my second trimester and 15 weeks along now, not far from halfway. I am finally feeling better and am looking more pregnant instead of just fat! I will post some new pictures up soon. Happy New Year!
